The biography of heavyweight boxer Arnold ‘The Cobra’ Gjergjaj includes numerous milestones that have significantly shaped his life and career.
As a 14-year-old Arnold Gjergjaj fled with his family from Đakovica (Kosovo) to Switzerland to escape the war. In Pratteln, Canton Basel-Landschaft, he finished school and completed an apprenticeship as a heating engineer.
Arnold Gjergjaj has been married since August 2014 and lives with his wife Marta and son (born 2017) in Pratteln.

For his outstanding athletic achievements and his commitment to local youth work, he was awarded the “Prattler Star 2014” by the residents’ and citizens’ municipality of Pratteln on May 23, 2014.
At his place of residence, Gjergjaj opened his boxing club “Arnold Boxfit” on January 23, 2016.
Arnold Gjergjaj started wrestling as a child, then switched to kickboxing and finally became enthusiastic about boxing. A three-time amateur Swiss champion, he turned professional in 2009 at the age of 25. Since then, ‘The Cobra’ has fought 40 fights, of which he has won 37 (27 knockouts). His boxing role model is the British former world champion Lennox Lewis.
At the age of 38, Arnold ‘The Cobra’ Gjergjaj claimed the World Boxing Federation (WBF) heavyweight title on September 2, 2023! His opponent was the Belgian Bilal Laggoune.
On June 24, 2023, Arnold ‘The Cobra’ Gjergjaj successfully defended his World Boxing Federation Intercontinental Heavy title against Latvian heavyweight boxer Kristaps Zutis.
On March 26, 2023, fans at the Metro Club of the Grand Casino Basel celebrated their hero Arnold “The Cobra” Gjergjaj, who confidently defeated colossus Dominic Vial by TKO in the second round to win the vacant World Boxing Federation Intercontinental Heavy title.
